This Friday night, July 22, Sublime With Rome rolls into The Eagle River Pavilion for one of the hottest shows of the summer. Joining the trio will be Dirty Heads, Tribal Seeds, and Bleeker. Tickets for the event are only $20.
Sublime With Rome features former Sublime bassist Eric Wilson along with vocalist/guitarist Rome Ramirez, and drummer John Freese (Perfect Circle, Nine Inch Nails). The band is touring in support of its sophomore record, Sirens, which released last year. Sirens is overflowing with standout songs, such as the mellow yet buzzed out title track, featuring tourmates, Dirty Heads.
“This was a song where the drums and synths and beat that I did were for Mickey Avalon and I liked it so much that I decided to keep it and save it for Sublime With Rome,” Rome Ramirez said. “I had a random idea and asked Jared [Watson] to hop on the track, even though it’s not what they do! They are gangster and they can handle anything.”
Formed in 2003 out of Huntington Beach, CA, Dirty Heads released their debut album, Any Port In A Storm in September of 2008, which features the RIAA certified gold track “Lay Me Down,” a song that spent eleven weeks at #1 on the Billboard alternative chart, more than any single that year by any other artist. Rolling Stone touted the ‘Heads as one of the year’s best new bands and they were among the first bands featured on YouTube’s Raw Session. The 2014 release of Sound Of Change turned heads, with Esquire saying “Sound of Change is brimming with the kind of catchy hooks that keep you plugged in for both their complex tones and cheerful breakdowns… we want seconds of whatever this pop/dance/rap hybrid is serving up.” The album debuted at #8 in the Billboard Top 200 and its first single; “My Sweet Summer” was a #3 hit at Alternative radio. Now the band are back again with their fifth self-titled studio album out July 15th on Five Seven Music.
From San Diego, California, award-winning reggae group Tribal Seeds have become known for their spiritually driven, refreshing rock vibe they have infused with the roots style of reggae music. Originally started by two brothers, Steven Rene Jacobo (lyrics, vocals, guitar) and Tony-Ray Jacobo (producer, keyboards, vocals). Tribal Seeds now boasts six members, including: Carlos Verdugo (drums), Victor Navarro (bass), E.N Young (keyboards, vocals) & Ryan Gonzo (guitar, vocals). Tribal Seeds’ unmatched musical talent and authentic sound has brought them to the forefront of the reggae rock genre, as their art form has reached people of all ages across the United States, and worldwide.
Bleeker– Taylor Perkins (Vocals), Cole Perkins (Guitar) Dan Steinke (Guitar) and Mike Van Dyk (Bass) are steadily building a rock solid name for themselves in their native Canada. But despite an altered band name and a slightly revamped lineup, Bleeker’s aesthetic and work ethic remain as sturdy and as unshakable as ever. Musically, Bleeker cross-pollinate the swagger of The Rolling Stones with psych-tinged groove, and therefore they fall among Royal Blood, The Black Keys, and Jet in the alt rock spectrum. But what sets them apart is an ever-so-subtle current of loose cannon danger that courses through every riff, note, and melody of their latest album Erase You.
