In what’s becoming an annual tradition, The Revolution Concert House and Events Center is gearing up for a New Years Eve bash featuring Reckless Kelly, along with Micky & the Motorcars, and Muzzie and Billy Braun. This will be a red dirt, Americana, rock and roll outlaw show full of swing and bombast. It’s basically the yearly Braun Family Reunion brought from Challis to Boise. Tickets for the Saturday night New Years Eve party go on sale this Friday, September 23.
Reckless Kelly‘s roots reach back to Idaho and Oregon, where brothers Willy and Cody Braun paired their state-required education with a musical school of learning taught by their father. Muzzie Braun and the Boys (that also included other members of the Braun clan) took to the stage, playing western swing regionally, as well as on the Grand Ole Opry and The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.
Founded nearly 20 years ago, Reckless Kelly has its origins in Stanley, Idaho, but the band quickly moved to Austin, Texas early on and dug their heals in the red dirt music scene. Twenty years and 8 studio albums later, the band is still a musical force. As they so often do, Reckless Kelly are bringing along younger brothers Micky and Gary Braun who front Micky & the Motorcars. Micky & the Motorcars have released seven albums of their own including 2014’s Hearts from Above.
Keeping it all in the family, the elder Brauns, Muzzie and Billy, will kick it all off.
