X Fest 2016 is exactly one month away, August 26 at The Ford Idaho Center Amphitheater in Nampa. The year, 100.3 the X is bringing in the mighty Breaking Benjamin and Saint Asonia, along with our friends in Avatar, Shamans Harvest, and Stitched Up Heart. It is going to be a hard rocking blow out. But an event like this needs some local talent to kick it all off, that is why The X is bringing you the X Fest Battle of the Bands which will take place Friday, August 5 at The Knitting Factory.
This month, 17 of Idaho’s hottest talents submitted their press kits for a chance to become one of the five Battle of the Bands finalists. Narrowing that list down to the five bands that will wage rock and roll war for the right to kick start X Fest 2016 was a battle all on its own. Tightening the list up to 10 was harrowing enough, but cropping it down to five took a lot of beer, arm wrestling, and beard pulling. I will not divulge who lost, but one of your judges for this event now has a bald spot in his goatee. It was brutal. The bands chosen reflect the diversity of fantastic talent we have in the Treasure Valley.
If you were listening to The Morning After with Nic and Big J on Monday, you heard the final 5 names announced:
Tickets for the event will be given away by 100.3 The X, and each band on the bill will have some of their own to give away to supportive fans. This is a huge event for local music and everyone is encouraged to show their support. This show will be a rager, and regardless of who wins the final battle, all five bands are already winners for making it to the fight!
Congrats to all five of the 2016 Battle of the bands finalists.
